Description
Intercultural education to support displaced Ukrainians
The challenge
Recent history shows that populist nationalism can grow in societies hosting refugees, causing tensions and limiting their social integration. As thousands of Ukrainians settle temporarily or permanently in Europe, it is crucial for EU member states to maintain an attitude of acceptance and support. |
The solution we have designed
UTOPIA promotes social inclusion and intercultural dialogue between local young people and Ukrainian refugees. It produces innovative tools and educational materials for youth workers to facilitate communication, overcome cultural barriers, and enhance mutual understanding, using methods such as gamification.
Results & Impact
The aim is to empower refugees and youth workers:
- Development of tools and educational material for youth workers.
- Innovative facilitation methods, such as gamification, to highlight shared experiences.
- Strengthening the participation of refugee and local youth in joint activities.
- Increasing the visibility and social impact of the project at local and European level.
