In the era of information , accessing news is easier than ever. However, the growing presence of fake news poses a serious challenge, especially for older adults, who are often disproportionately affected. According to research, fake news affects older adults because of their limited digital literacy, social isolation, and lack of critical thinking skills when it comes to information, due to the trust they have come to place in traditional news sources. These factors increase their vulnerability to misinformation, resulting in fear, anxiety, and poor decisions about their health.

Launch of the Erasmus+ funded project FREEDOM (Fake News Recognition and Education for Elderly Digital Outreach Mission) We are pleased to announce the launch of a new European initiative aimed at strengthening the digital skills of older adults and protecting them against fake news. The FREEDOM project (Fake News Recognition and Education for Elderly Digital Outreach Mission) has been launched with the support of the Italian National Agency of the Erasmus+ programme.
