The Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry provide an update on the implementation progress of the European project Go2Grove (Erasmus+ KA220-VET), in which it participates as a project partner. The project aims to strengthen the professional skills of Ukrainian refugees in the fields of olive cultivation and olive oil production, with the objective of improving their employability and supporting their social integration.

Within this framework, a Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) was held in Heraklion, Crete, on 17 and 18 March 2026, with the participation of all consortium partners from Greece, Spain, and Italy. During the meeting, the progress of all Work Packages was reviewed and the next steps for the continuation of the project implementation were agreed.

Completion of Digital Educational Material

The project’s Digital Educational Handbook (WP2) has been successfully completed. The material has been translated into all consortium languages, has undergone external evaluation, and has been validated as a comprehensive and functional vocational training tool. The handbook provides full coverage of the main stages of olive cultivation and olive oil production and constitutes a key deliverable of the project.

Progress of Educational Video Production

The development of the educational video collection (WP3) is currently underway. During the Heraklion meeting, issues related to delays caused by external factors, such as weather conditions, were discussed, and specific measures were agreed upon to accelerate the completion of production. The videos will present the core activities of olive cultivation and olive oil production in a practical and accessible manner and will be utilized in the next phase of the project.

Development of the Digital Platform

At the same time, development of the Go2Grove digital platform (WP4) is progressing. The platform will integrate the digital handbook, audiovisual material, and interactive self-assessment tools, offering unified and user-friendly access to the educational content.

In the immediate next period, the following actions are foreseen:

  • completion and integration of the educational videos into the platform;
  • strengthening of dissemination and communication activities related to the project results.

The Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry continue to actively participate in the implementation of the Go2Grove project, contributing to the connection between vocational education and the agri-food sector and to the effective use of modern digital tools for the benefit of local and European society.
